XMS Industrial specializes in repairing, rebuilding and manufacturing after-market replacement parts for the global surface mining industry. Products and Services

XMS Industrial manufactures replacement components, including dragline bases, shafts, pinions, gears, couplings, and, most notably, swing racks for mining draglines and shovels. The swing rack is a large gear assembly placed between the upper works of a dragline or shovel and its base, allowing the upper body to pivot over the base (on a dragline) or car body (on a shovel). A dragline swing-rack is usually made up of 12 to16 pieces bolted together to an overall diameter of 40 feet or larger. A shovel swing-rack is forged in one piece and can measure more than 17 feet. Swing racks are generally sold as a package with rails and rollers, which act as a giant ball bearing set.

Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Processes

XMS Industrial replacement parts are of superior quality when redesigned from a casting to a forging. Forgings provide for increases in the tensile strength of parts due to harder alloy material, better grain structure, no porosity and no shrink holes. Ultimately the forged product will provide a longer life than a cast product. In addition, the company routinely remanufactures and re-engineers replacement parts for its customers. The result is a replacement part that will out-perform both the original part and the OEM replacement parts, which reduces the mining companies' overall replacement costs.
